Baton Rouge, LA--John Kennedy today received former Louisiana Governor Buddy Roemer’s endorsement in his bid for the U.S. Senate.
“Our hard-working families deserve the kind of leadership that only John Kennedy is able to provide,” said Gov. Roemer. “As a Washington outsider, John is not part of the ineffective political class that has failed us for so many years.”
Charles "Buddy" Roemer served as the 52nd Governor of Louisiana from 1988 to 1992, and as a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1981 to 1988.
“I’m honored to have Gov. Roemer’s support because he understands, like I do, the importance of restoring fiscal sanity to government,” said Kennedy. “It’s time to take our country back and bring some Louisiana common sense to Washington, D.C.”
Kennedy continues to enjoy a sizable lead in the race for U.S. Senate, dominating the last five polls.

With my wife Becky by my side, I made it official today and qualified to be the next United States Senator from the State of Louisiana.
I'm running because I want my country back. We have too many undeserving people at the top getting bailouts and too many undeserving people at the bottom getting handouts while middle income families are stuck paying the bill.
I couldn't be happier about where we are right now in the campaign. We have all the momentum and it keeps getting better. We've led in the last five polls by huge margins. The last two polls have us at 32% and 30% with no other Republican topping 11%. We're winning the fundraising fight as well, netting the most money raised this year.
I'm excited about the future of this campaign, the future of the State of Louisiana, and the future of the United States.
Baton Rouge, LA --- John Kennedy reported nearly $1 million raised in his second quarter fundraising report for the U.S. Senate seat in Louisiana, bringing in $946,000, with $1,384,083 cash on hand.
This is the second strong report for Kennedy who led the field in the first quarter with $817,584 raised. Thus far, Kennedy raised $1,763,584 this year in his bid for the U.S. Senate seat.
These huge fundraising numbers come on the heels of five consecutive polls that show him leading by a large margin.
"The people of our state want someone in Washington looking out for their best interests, and I’m committed to bringing some Louisiana common sense to the U.S. Senate," Kennedy said.
The fundraising report shows homegrown support with 97 percent of donors from Louisiana and 97 percent of the contributions from individuals.
