John Kennedy's Blog
Baton Rouge, LA — In the wake of another violent night in New Orleans, John Kennedy released the following statement. "The violence in New Orleans is out of control. Twenty-four people have been shot in New Orleans in the last three days including the ten shot on Bourbon Street early this morning. We need to take action today to empower our law enforcement officers, not undermine them. I’m grateful to the response from law enforcement officers who were on the scene last night to help prevent even more shootings. My prayers go out to the men and women of our law enforcement agencies who put themselves in harm’s way every day."
Baton Rouge, LA — Lafayette Parish Mayor-President Joel Robideaux today endorsed John Kennedy in the race to become Louisiana’s next U.S. Senator.
“I am pleased to endorse John Kennedy to serve as our next United States Senator. I was honored to work with Treasurer Kennedy during my time in the Legislature. It is especially important that we elect a Senator who will be a strong advocate for our oil and gas industry. I consider him a friend and a respected colleague,” Robideaux said. “He is a hard-working and thoughtful leader. he will be an influential asset to President Trump in the Senate. As our U.S. Senator, he will make us proud for having elected the best leader to represent our values, our economy and our state.”
Kennedy said, “Mayor Robideaux knows that I will be a champion for the people of Acadiana, and I thank him for his endorsement. Too many people in Louisiana are hurting from the liberal policies that this administration has heaped on our oil and gas industry. My opponent wants to impose higher, job-killing taxes on this industry that will hurt its workers even more. I want to repeal needless regulations and provide more opportunities to put the people of Acadiana back to work so they can provide for their families.”
Robideaux is the latest to endorse Kennedy’s bid for the U.S. Senate. He joins a chorus of leaders who support the oil and gas industry and Acadiana, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, Sen. David Vitter, Sen. Bill Cassidy, Rep. Ralph Abraham, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, Rep. John Fleming, Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and Rep. Charles Boustany.

John will be an outstanding advocate for Louisiana gun owners in the U.S. Senate and is the only candidate in this race who will stand strong against the Obama/Bloomberg/Clinton gun control agenda,” said Chris W. Cox, Chairman, NRA-PVF.
“I'm proud to have the endorsement and support of the NRA," said Kennedy. "I believe our founders meant it when they said our right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. I will always stand up for and defend the Second Amendment."
