Release: Louisiana Sheriffs' Association Endorses Kennedy for U.S. Senate

Baton Rouge, LA — The Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association announced today that its members have endorsed John Kennedy in his bid for the U.S. Senate.

The Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association is a bipartisan organization, composed of the state’s 64 sheriffs and nearly 14,000 deputy sheriffs. It is one of Louisiana’s largest law enforcement organizations.

“State Treasurer John Kennedy has a long history of being a strong supporter of law enforcement, and the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association is honored to show our support for him in his upcoming runoff election on Dec. 10, 2016,” said the Association’s President and East Baton Rouge Sheriff Sid Gautreaux and Michael Ranatza, the Association’s executive director, in a joint statement.

Kennedy said, “It means so much to me that Louisiana’s sheriffs and deputies are supporting me. These men and women put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities and keep our families safe. As a U.S. Senator, I will always look out for our law enforcement officers who are looking out for us.”

The Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association is the latest in a growing list of endorsements that also includes the National Right to Life and the American Conservative Union. Kennedy has also been endorsed by House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, Sen. David Vitter, Sen. Bill Cassidy, Rep. Ralph Abraham, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, Rep. John Fleming, Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and Rep. Charles Boustany.

Everyone in Louisiana deserves the dignity and security of a good job. I would appreciate your vote during early voting (Nov 26-Dec 3) or on Election Day, December 10.

Release: Thibodaux Mayor Tommy Eschete Endorses Kennedy for U.S. Senate

BATON ROUGE, La. - Thibodaux Mayor Tommy Eschete today endorsed John Kennedy to become Louisiana’s next U.S. Senator.

Eschete praised Kennedy for his support of policies that will generate jobs and move Louisiana’s economy forward. Kennedy’s support for small business stands in stark contrast to his opponent, Foster Campbell, who has repeatedly called for higher, job-killing taxes on our state’s oil and gas industry.

“My conservative values fit John’s vision for a better state. He’ll support our economy in Louisiana and restore the integrity of our oil and gas industry, and that is why I’m supporting him,” Eschete said.

Kennedy said, “Mayor Eschete and I know the best way to create jobs is to provide opportunity, not raise taxes. Higher taxes and needless regulations that my opponent supports aren’t going to put our people back to work. The hardworking people of Louisiana’s oil and gas industry can always count on me to support them in Washington.”

Eschete joins a growing list of people who are supporting Kennedy. He’s recently received the support of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, Sen. David Vitter, Sen. Bill Cassidy, Rep. Ralph Abraham, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, Rep. John Fleming, Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and Rep. Charles Boustany.
