Release: The NRA Endorses John Kennedy for the U.S. Senate
Baton Rouge, LA — The National Rifle Association announced today their endorsement of John Kennedy in his bid for the U.S. Senate.
The National Rifle Association is widely recognized as America's foremost defender of Second Amendment rights, and has since its inception, been the premier firearms education organization in the world. Founded in 1871, it is the oldest continuously operating civil rights organization in the United States.
“The NRA-PVF is proud to endorse John Kennedy for the U.S. Senate. John will be an outstanding advocate for Louisiana gun owners in the U.S. Senate and is the only candidate in this race who will stand strong against the Obama/Bloomberg/Clinton gun control agenda,” said Chris W. Cox, Chairman, NRA-PVF.
“I'm proud to have the endorsement and support of the NRA," said Kennedy. "I believe our founders meant it when they said our right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. I will always stand up for and defend the Second Amendment."
The NRA is the latest in a growing list of endorsements that also includes the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association, National Right to Life and the American Conservative Union. Kennedy has also been endorsed by House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, Sen. David Vitter, Sen. Bill Cassidy, Rep. Ralph Abraham, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, Rep. John Fleming, Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and Rep. Charles Boustany.
