America’s dependence on foreign oil is unsustainable. Importing oil from volatile regions and countries that hate America threatens our economic and national security. Skyrocketing prices at the pump and record oil prices are hurting American families.

John Kennedy believes America must become energy independent. Developing and investing in alternative energy sources and enhanced domestic oil exploration will make America safer and more energy efficient. With emerging technologies, we no longer have to choose between protecting the environment and meeting our energy needs. 

John believes making America energy independent is also good for business. He will encourage the development of clean energy technologies, such as nuclear power, renewable sources, ethanol, coal, biodiesel, solar and wind. John will also fight for increased oil exploration in the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), ANWR, oil shale reserves and tar sands.
